Joie de Coco

By Jade Weckx

As I have always been told about the four generations of culinary chefs in my family, I have always eaten well and been inspired by my family legacy.

My great great grandfather, Hubert Schoenaers, started his adventure as a pastry chef in 1912 in Belgium and passed his knowledge and “savoir faire” to his son, my beloved great grandfather, Willy Schoenaers.

After developing iconic recipes such as “Merveilleux”, Chocolate tartlet, “Pralines”  and much more, Willy decided to launch his own pastry shop with his wife, my great grandmother, Agnes Schoenaers, on “Belgium Avenue” in Antwerp in 1954. Over the years, they were recognized as a leader in Belgium's pastry industry.

Over the year,, my father has shared with me his culinary secrets

to reach the best quality and best perfection possible in pastry making.

With his recipe bible, I now have the opportunity to modernize some

of his recipes but keeping the core of his culinary spirit.

Today, I have decided to create a line of high-end traditional

chocolate cakes, elevated with a few amazing flavours for your pleasure.

Please enjoy!
